1. Scope
This policy applies to the PlaybackHere Android application, playbackhere.com, beta and support communications, and any direct purchase process operated by PlaybackHere.
2. Information handled by the Android app
When you choose to save a media position, PlaybackHere may process information supplied by Android or the media app, including the app name or package, media title, creator, item identifier or public media address, local file reference, playback position, duration, date, user label, notes, tags, restore results and diagnostic events.
The current app uses this information to create, display, organise, export and restore bookmarks on your Android device. It does not routinely upload your bookmark library to a PlaybackHere account because no such cloud account service is currently offered.
3. Permissions and media access
PlaybackHere may request notification or media-session access and standard Android permissions needed to capture and restore supported media. Features may be unavailable when access is declined. PlaybackHere is designed not to launch a media app merely because PlaybackHere starts or performs a background library task.
4. Exports and user-directed sharing
When you export, back up or share a bookmark file, Android and the destination you select handle that file. You are responsible for protecting exported files and deleting copies you no longer need.
5. Future optional cloud services
The roadmap includes optional first-party cloud backup and multi-device synchronisation. Before any cloud service launches, PlaybackHere will publish updated information explaining the account requirements, data uploaded, storage locations, service providers, security measures, retention and deletion controls, and applicable pricing. The service will require an explicit user choice and will be governed by the policy and terms presented at that time.
6. Website information
Cloudflare and other infrastructure providers may process standard technical information needed to deliver and protect the website, such as IP address, browser information, requested pages, timestamps and security signals. PlaybackHere may use privacy-respecting aggregate web analytics that do not create advertising profiles or use cross-site behavioural tracking.
7. Beta, support and purchase communications
If you email PlaybackHere, request beta access or buy a licence, we receive the information you choose to provide and information required to administer the transaction, such as email address, device details, support description, order reference and fulfilment status. Payment-card information is processed by the payment provider and should not be sent to PlaybackHere by email.
8. Sharing
PlaybackHere does not sell personal information. Information may be processed by providers used for website delivery, email, app distribution, payments, licence fulfilment, security or support. It may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with law, investigate misuse or protect legal rights.
9. Retention and deletion
On-device data remains until you delete bookmarks, clear app data or uninstall the app. Exported copies remain wherever you placed them. Beta, support and transaction records are kept only as long as reasonably needed for support, product operation, security, accounting and legal obligations.
10. Security
PlaybackHere uses reasonable safeguards appropriate to the information handled. No device, transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Protect your phone, exported backups, email account and any future cloud credentials.
11. Children and international processing
PlaybackHere is a general utility and is not directed specifically to children. Website, email, app-store, payment and support providers may process information outside Australia. Current on-device bookmark data is not transferred by PlaybackHere unless you deliberately export or share it.
12. Contact and changes
Questions or deletion requests may be sent to playbackhere@gmail.com. This policy may be updated when the app, website, payment system or optional cloud services change. Material changes will be dated and explained before they apply.
